In 1988, a miracle happened at Talisker as whisky masters discovered a small group of 30-year-old casks with a less peaty, more rounded character than usual.

Remembering how special those casks were, Master Blender Jim Beveridge reserved the last six oak casks to make this Talisker 1988 – a masterpiece of contradictory flavours. At first taste, there is a rolling, bold and peppery tide of flavour, which gently ebbs into a wonderful fruity depth and a gentle saltiness. It is this mark of the ocean that makes Talisker 1988 a typical liquid from the Isle of Skye.
