An Islay representative in the ‘”Classic Malts” series, Lagavulin 16 Years Old has the massive peat-smoke that’s typical of southern Islay – but also offering richness and a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting tipple. The liquid has truly become a benchmark Islay dram from the Lagavulin distillery.

Lagavulin 16 offers a strong aroma of dry peat smoke, seaweed, sweet fragrance, and a sweet taste of dried fruit with a smoke flavour, the warmth of malt and green pepper. It’s big, very, very concentrated, and redolent of iodine, sweet spices, good, mature Sherry and creamy vanilla, leaving a long, warm and spicy-sweet finish, especially the lingering smoke.
