One of the all-time favourite malts, Talisker 18 Years Old is a masterpiece from one of Scotland’s greatest distilleries, and was named “Best Single Malt Whisky in the World” at the World Whiskies Awards in 2007.
The whisky opens quite clean and fresh with mixed fruity sweetness with a spicy character. The peat and smoke rise with notes of perfume and thick oak. The finish is peppery.
Nose: rich and fruity, with a thread of smoke behind
Palate: sweet in front, then more assertive
Finish: Talisker’s characteristic chili
